Our Gastroenterology

endoscopic technology at our affiliated facilities.

Preventive & Diagnostic Colon Care

Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy is the gold standard for colorectal cancer screening, allowing your physician to visually examine the entire colon and detect or remove polyps before they progress. Current clinical guidelines recommend screening for average-risk adults beginning at age 45. Our physicians will evaluate your individual risk factors and determine the appropriate screening schedule for you.

Esophagogastroduodenoscopy

Upper Endoscopy (EGD)

Upper endoscopy is a physician-performed procedure used to examine the esophagus, stomach, and upper small intestine. It is commonly used in the evaluation of GERD, peptic ulcers, Barrett’s esophagus, dysphagia, and other upper GI conditions. The procedure is well-tolerated and performed under sedation at our affiliated surgical facilities.

Early Detection for Better Outcomes

Colon Cancer Screening

Regular colorectal cancer screening is one of the most effective tools for early detection and improved clinical outcomes. Our gastroenterologists will review your personal and family history, assess your risk level, and recommend the most appropriate screening approach for your individual needs.

Precise, Minimally Invasive Care

Colon Polyp Detection &
Removal

Colon polyps are small growths on the inner lining of the colon that, in some cases, may develop into colorectal cancer over time. During a colonoscopy, our physicians can identify and remove polyps in the same session — reducing risk and eliminating the need for a separate procedure.

Relief for Chronic Acid Reflux

GERD Treatment

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is one of the most common digestive conditions affecting adults. Our team provides individualized evaluation and necessary gastroenterology treatment for GERD, including lifestyle guidance and clinical management, tailored to your symptoms and health history.

Targeted Lower Colon Evaluation

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy

Flexible sigmoidoscopy is a diagnostic exam that may be recommended in certain situations or clinical scenarios to evaluate the lower portion of the colon for symptoms such as rectal bleeding, changes in bowel habits, and lower abdominal discomfort. Your physician will determine whether this procedure is the right diagnostic approach for your specific concerns.

Effective, Comfortable,
Clinically Performed

Nonsurgical Hemorrhoidal Treatment

Symptomatic hemorrhoids are a common and highly treatable condition. Bustleton GI offers nonsurgical hemorrhoidal treatment options performed in a clinical setting — with your comfort and recovery as a priority.

The main difference is the part of the digestive tract being examined. A colonoscopy evaluates the large intestine (colon) and is commonly used for colorectal cancer screening, polyp detection, and investigation of lower gastrointestinal symptoms. An upper endoscopy (EGD) examines the esophagus, stomach, and upper small intestine to help diagnose conditions such as GERD, peptic ulcers, Barrett’s esophagus, and other upper digestive disorders. Your physician will determine which procedure is appropriate based on your symptoms, medical history, and clinical needs.

If you experience frequent heartburn, regurgitation, or upper abdominal discomfort — particularly after meals or when lying down — you may benefit from a GI evaluation. GERD is a common and manageable condition. A clinical consultation with one of our gastroenterologists is the appropriate first step toward an accurate diagnosis.
